Construction Waste Disposal Charging Scheme
The levy of disposal charges for the disposal of construction waste
at government facilities under the above scheme started from January
20 (Friday). The charges for disposing of one tonne of construction
waste at public fill reception facilities, sorting facilities and
landfills are $27, $100 and $125 respectively.
Policy Framework for the Management of Municipal Solid Waste published
The Policy Framework, published on 15 December 2005, proposes simple,
yet effective, economic tools that would create incentives for the
community to recycle more and discard less. The public is sincerely
invited to support the measures and milestones set out in the Policy
Framework.
New Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Website Launched by
Director of SEPA, PS(E), and ACE Chairman
On 6 Dec 2005, Director of State Environmental Protection Administration
of China Mr. Zhu Xingxiang, Permanent Secretary for the Environment,
Transport and Works (Environment) Mr. K. K. Kwok, and Chairman of
Advisory Council on the Environment Professor K. C. Lam jointly launched
the new SEA website, which includes the Hong Kong SEA Manual interactive
edition, SEA reports, etc.
