Founded in Dec. 1952, Shanghai Telecom Engineering Co., ltd (STEC) is an A Class chief contractor in telecommunication engineering field. In addition, STEC has the ¡°Qualification of the Import and Export Enterprise¡± and the ¡°Qualification for International Economic Cooperation¡±.
STEC is first one which got the ISO9000 quality and management certificate in the telecommunication engineering enterprise in China. On the year 2001, the new certificate of ISO 9001 2000 version was got without any difficulties. At the same time, STEC acquired the new qualification system certificate issued by U.S and Holland respectively. In 2003, STEC became the first one which got the three qualification management system certificate in the telecommunication engineering field by acquiring the ¡°Environmental Management System Certification of Conformity¡± and the ¡°OHSMS Certificate¡±.
The company has 757 employees, among which there are 322 senior and specialized technicians, 48 of them has the project management qualification, and 23 project manager has the A class certificate. 8 departments plus chief engineer office and 15 specialize branches compose STEC. Outside China, Angola, Ghana, Bangladesh project divisions were set.
The scope of business of STEC includes installation, commissioning and testing of telephone exchanges, optical and microwave transmission, towers and poles, broad band and data service, intelligent building and system integration. Beyond that the company also engaged in the consultancy service. STEC has projects both home abroad, including Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Angola, Ghana and scores of provinces in the middle and west part of China.
From 2003 STEC got a lot of honors, such as ¡°Satisfying Enterprise of China¡± issued by China Quality Association and China Customer Committee, ¡°Excellent Engineering Enterprise of China¡± issued by China Enterprise Management Association, ¡°Customer Satisfying Enterprise¡± issued by Shanghai Quality Association, ¡°Excellent Company¡± issued by Shanghai Key Projects Competition in three consecutive years. In the year 2005, again the company is horned with ¡°Excellent Engineering Enterprise of China¡±.
